RESIS Institute from Skopje is implementing the project Encouraging civic engagement in local governance - Local Active Media, whose main goal is to improve access to the public sphere for vulnerable groups of citizens from the Eastern and Southeastern regions, through developing communication skills and capabilities of civil society organizations that work with vulnerable groups and through the creation of online the media platform #LocalActive from which they will be informed and in which they will participate with their own contents of the vulnerable groups from both regions. The project is supported by the non-profit foundation National Endowment for Democracy (NED) .

At the online debate held as part of Media Literacy Days, civic organizations working at the local level debated about the factors that prevent the inclusion of citizens with various forms of disabilities in the public sphere. The impetus for the debate was found in the latest research conducted by civil organizations from the Eastern and Southeastern regions, in cooperation with the RESIS Institute.

Info The mapping of communication habits, knowledge, needs and interests of vulnerable groups of citizens in the Eastern and Southeastern regions has begun
The RESIS Institute started the Mapping of communication habits, knowledge, needs and interests of vulnerable groups of citizens in the Eastern and Southeastern regions of RNM. The mapping includes citizens who live with a certain degree of physical disability, intellectual disability or visual and hearing impairment, as vulnerable categories of citizens whose communication rights are most threatened. This is the first Mapping of the communication habits of vulnerable citizens in RNM and will serve as a basis for a thorough research that will assess the needs and communication habits of groups in the local community.
